Stuart set up SJ Mortgage Solutions Ltd in Nov 2006 having spent 13 years with corporates such as Halifax, Abbey National (now Santander) and Countrywide. He felt the way corporates interacted with clients was too regimented and that people like to be spoken to and chatted with in an open and honest manner.

When we first started out, we were called SJ Mortgage Solutions, but actually we are more than just mortgages.

Want to know more about who we are before contacting us. I think you will agree we have a huge amount of knowledge in our team and no matter whatever the circumstances, we’ve probably seen it before. The important bit is for you to be as open and transparent as possible with us.
Stuart will do everything possible to ensure a mortgage is found but sometimes the ‘impossible’ really is impossible, but he will tell you. Outside of work, (and if you know him, he’s probably bored you already), but he’s a mountain biker and likes nothing more than to head off up a mountain or into the woods – that could be on his bike, or with a set of skis attached to his feet.
Deb has worked at SJ Financial Solutions since March 2012 after a long career at Lloyds Bank where she advised clients on mortgages and banking. She had her own mortgage business until 2016 then merged the business with SJ Financial Solutions and is now part of the management team and became a director in Feb 2023. Deb is the office social organiser and as soon as the words ‘work do’ pop up she is straight on it. If she’s not at work, she is usually found shopping or on holiday!
Amanda joined the team in January 2018 after a very long and varied career within Lloyds Bank having been a Senior Bank Manager and Regional Mortgage Manager. She came to SJ Financial Solutions with a breadth and depth of knowledge as our Protection Professional within the team. If she isn’t on holiday with Deb, she will be found honing her cooking skills as she is allegedly quite a cook!
Charlotte has been with us since Jan 2016 after leaving Co-op bank as a customer service officer. Initially she was one of our admin team but qualified in Dec 2017 and is now a Mortgage Advisor here at SJ Financial Solutions. Originally from Plymouth, she now resides in Tamworth, is a regular gym goer and can be regularly seen walking her Long-Haired Chihuahua, Daisy.
Becky… another Lloyds Bank ex-employee… previously with them for 9 years, she came to SJ Financial Solutions in late 2018. She runs the admin team at SJ Financial Solutions to ensure everything goes through as swiftly and smoothly as possible and is also a qualified advisor. Becky runs her own fitness class, Bounce with Becky and has a Shi Tzu called Bailey.
Angela worked at Purnell’s Restaurant in Birmingham for 17 years in various roles from Customer Service & Reception to Accounts Management. Prior to that she worked for Lloyds Bank, or Lloyds TSB as it was then for 16 years alongside Deb, Amanda and Becky, 15 years in the branch network and 1 year in Financial Crime Investigation (THE FUN STUFF). She enjoys a good crime documentary, reality TV and trips to the Theatre. Proof has yet to be seen as she’s new to the team, but she claims to be ‘not a bad cook’.
